SUCCESSFUL TRIBUNAL HUMAN RIGHTS APPEAL

This case involved a Jamaican man who had arrived in the UK in 2001. He had tried to extend his visa several times, but other people had let him down. Some of those people had been lawyers and others had been people pretending to be lawyers. After these negative experiences, he was determined to find a law firm that he could trust to handle his complex case.

When this client first came to us, he was in a difficult situation. He had recently applied for a visa on the basis of the long period of time that he had spent living in the UK, but the Government had refused the application. He had filed an appeal with the Tribunal and he was due to have his hearing within the next few months. He had sought advice from barristers, but they had advised him that his case was unlikely to succeed. However, discussing the case with us gave him a new sense of hope.

We secured an urgent adjournment from the Tribunal to allow time to review properly our client’s case. During our review, we identified a small but crucial detail that others had overlooked. This warranted further investigation and we pursued this detail over the course of several hearings at the Tribunal. Ultimately, the Tribunal allowed the appeal and our client finally received his visa after many years of living in the UK.

Our persistence and attention to detail led to this successful result for our client. We were delighted when he received permission to stay in the UK, giving him the stability that he needed to plan for the future and integrate into British society.
